FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TORONTO, ON – Today, Vancouver Island based rock band, Current Swell are pleased to announce their North American fall tour. Kicking off in Edmonton, AB on October 31 the tour will hit 17 cities before wrapping in Washington, DC on December 7. Also announced, Current Swell’s new single “High Life”, is available today via all digital retailers.
“Really looking forward to this tour, little bit of a new band and a little bit of an old band,” said Scott Stanton, vocals and lead guitar of Current Swell. “A lot of new songs and a lot of the old classics. Playing some familiar venues and some brand-new ones. It’s the past, present and future tour.”
“High Life”, produced by Colin Stewart (The New Pornographers, Yukon Blonde, Dan Mangan) and Current Swell, conveys the feeling of living in the big city and needing a chance to disconnect, while still featuring the bands powerful rock anthem vibe. The song is the lead single from the band’s forthcoming album, due for release this fall. Listen to “High Life” here.
Comprised of Scott Stanton (lead vocals/guitars), Dave Lang (vocals/guitars), Louis Sadava (vocals/bass) and co., the band are stepping into the expectations of a new album and a new tour with a hard-earned confidence and a well-worn grin. Current Swell have a proven track record – with sold-out tours in North America, Brazil, and Europe, with thousands of tickets sold across four continents and well over 50 million streams worldwide.
Current Swell has opened for bands like Tragically Hip, Edward Sharpe, Xavier Rudd, Dispatch, Sam Roberts Band and The Cat Empire, and has made appearances at major festivals such as Byron Bay Bluesfest, Festivalma in Brazil, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, Hurricane and Southside Festival in Germany, Bumbershoot in Seatle, and recently headlining Rifflandia Festival in British Columbia.
